FAQ'S

Leases are long, complex documents that can be hard to understand. A solicitor can help explain your obligations and liabilities and make sure that you have the best possible agreement.

Do I need to pay stamp duty on a commercial lease?

In most cases commercial leases over a certain value are subject to SDLT. Your solicitor can explain how much SDLT your lease will attract once they have the details and help you take care of this payment.

How much stamp duty will I have to pay on a commercial lease?

If the ‘no fault’ petition is used, a divorce has no grounds for defence.

Does a commercial lease need to be registered?

Yes, in most cases commercial leases over seven years need to be registered with the land registry. This will be confirmed by your solicitor.
